When creating an app using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, it is important to periodically preview your work, especially when building interactive overlays or after making any layout changes. As soon as a folio is added in the Folio Builder panel, it can be previewed using the Adobe Content Viewer application on the mobile device, which is recommended over previewing on the desktop. To preview on the iPad:
- Connect the device to a Mac via the USB cable.
- Launch the Adobe Content Viewer app on your iPad. (Download this app from the iTunes App Store if you don’t have it.)
- Start InDesign and open the Folio Builder panel.
- Select the folio you want to preview. At the bottom of the Folio Builder panel, select Preview on [Device Name] from the Preview drop-down menu.
- The selected folio is copied to your iPad and will then display in the open Adobe Content Viewer app. The folio will stay on the device after you disconnect it. The folio will be removed from the library when archived.
The Preview on [Device Name] option is also available from the Folio Overlays panel if you only want to preview the current layout. The layout will remain on the iPad when it is disconnected, but it will be deleted when you return to the library. (See our DPS Tip Preview Folios With Adobe Content Viewer for more information on using the Preview function.)
