- Rodale revealed a new YouTube channel, called 3V. Leaning on expertise from production company BermanBraun, Rodale will be creating original video content for 3V, including reality lifestyle shorts, workout tips, and even some humor-based “shows.” Rodale and BermanBraun are also currently at work on a healthy-eating channel for YouTube.
- This week on the TFP blog, Monica Murphy discussed what’s new with the updated EPUB 3 format and why it matters.
- Folio got a sneak peek of Huffington Post’s debut weekly digital magazine app, scheduled for formal release on April 24. Despite rumors that the digital edition might be free, with profits coming solely from advertising, that hasn’t been confirmed as of yet.
- Several companies announced changeups in management this week. Surfing magazine FOAM is welcoming a new editor in chief, Sari Tuschman, who previously held the same position at Los Angeles Confidential magazine. Greg Hano, senior VP/corporate sales at Bonnier Corp., was appointed to the CEO position at tablet publishing technology provider Mag+. Lastly, MPA, the Association of Magazine Media, announced that Chris Kevorkian, currently its executive vice president, digital, will be moving up to chief marketing and digital officer.
