Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer gave birth to a baby boy on Sept. 30.
Her announcement before the birth that she would return to work after only a few weeks on maternity leave—during which she would continue to work—has generated some controversy about the precedent it sets for working mothers.
Mayer, 37, was tapped to serve as CEO of the struggling Internet company in July. She had been in an executive role at Google and was the first female engineer at that company.
