- Next week, Glamour magazine is launching a series of Google Hangouts aimed at monetizing such events through product placement deals. The Hangouts will be sponsored by companies such as L’Oreal and SlimFast, whose products will be featured as staffers and online personalities present style and beauty tips.
- Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Facebook Home, software that tightly integrates the social media app with Android-based devices. The HTC First will be the first phone to launch with the software installed. Home will gradually roll out for other devices via the Google Play Store, starting today.
- A Digiday article discusses how Pinterest’s popularity is prompting publishers to adopt the social media site’s highly visual grid display on their own sites, which in turn is enabling more seamless integration of advertising.
