- Readers of Condé Nast’s Vogue, Glamour, Bon Appétit, Lucky, Golf Digest, Vanity Fair, and Wired can now buy and renew print and digital magazine subscriptions via Amazon.com, thanks to a deal struck with the e-commerce site. Other titles will be added to the “All-Access” plan later in the year. Kindle, iPad, and Android devices are supported.
- Barnes & Noble announced lower earnings for Q1 2014 for both its retail and Nook businesses. It also said it’s no longer planning to split those operations into separate companies, and Chairman Leonard Riggio is “suspending” his bid to buy the retail stores. B&N also said it’s not completely outsourcing production of color devices after all.
- A feature in The Economist examines how “after years of wreaking havoc, the Internet is helping media companies to grow.”
- MediaPost has five tips on how publishers can thrive in the age of real-time news and social media. Also check out Smashing Magazine‘s InDesign scripts and plug-ins to help speed up your work.
