- Rob O’Regan wrote an interesting post on why it’s harmful for many traditional publishers to continue to treat technology as an afterthought.
-
Poynter’s “Future of Journalism Competencies” survey revealed a large gap when it comes to the core skills that educators and media pros think are important for journalism students. There’s an in-depth overview of the survey on the Poynter blog, or you can register to download the full report.
- The Source OpenNews project has a primer on what the Heartbleed security flaw means for newsroom technology and explains what you need to do to address it, and why.
- Once you’ve learned more about Heartbleed, you’ll want to check out TFP’s Infographic Pick of the Week for advice on creating the perfect password to protect your online accounts.
- The state of the news media, digital ads, audience behavior, tablets, ebooks, and video are among the topics covered in this month’s Media Metrics roundup. This handy resource can help you keep up with current media industry trends and prepare for change.
- This week on TFP’s DPS Tips blog, we share a resource that shows which features are supported in each type of content viewer.
