- After revealing that Nook revenues were down 32% for the fiscal year, Barnes & Noble announced plans to spin off its Nook Media subsidiary. Its retail operations and Nook business are expected to become separate publicly traded companies by Q1 2015.
- If you develop content and apps for tablets and smartphones (and you also can’t resist a good listicle), you should check out The Verge’s recap of the 17 most important things Google announced at this week’s I/O developers conference, including a new version of its Android OS, a new low-cost smartphone, and a design language called material design.
